The Windows Phone marketplace for apps and games just got three classic Microsoft PC titles – Minesweeper, Mahjong and Solitaire. If you’ve used a Windows PC, and you doubtlessly have, then you’ve probably tried your hand at at least one of them. Haven’t ever played them? Does the fact that they’re free to download interest you?
Love games like Tetris or Bejeweled or any other game where you have to match shapes, colors or numbers? Mahjong should offer hours of addictive pleasure. Here, players must eliminate pairs of tiles by scanning through the visible ones (because some are placed in stacks) and clicking on matching sets of two each time.
There are three difficulty levels to choose from and an Undo system in case you wish to retrace your steps. The goal is to finish as many tiles as possible in order to earn points. You can begin with Easy and fight your way to Expert in Minesweeper. Your task is to turn over all the numbered squares on the board without stepping on a mine and blowing up your game.

Lastly, there’s Solitaire, possibly the most difficult of the lot and hence, the most interesting. It features Klondike, TriPeaks, Spider and Pyramid modes, each of which involves moving around cards in a certain manner depending on the type of game you’ve selected.
Since Xbox Live integration is available, players can earn achievements, compete with others, submit their scores to the leaderboards or simply choose to keep tabs on their own points. Users may also play, pause and resume gaming across devices such as PCs, tablets or Windows Phone handsets.
