Microsoft Surface Pro 4 arriving in India by January 2016

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is set to land in India by January 2016, marking the first time the tablet series is hitting local markets. The announcement was made by the company’s CEO Satya Nadella during the Future Unleashed event in Mumbai.

However, he didn’t reveal the India price and availability details of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. The device was launched in the US last month starting at $899 (approximately Rs 58700) for the basic model. The tech giant claims the gadget is 30% faster than its predecessor and 50% faster than the Apple MacBook.

The Microsoft product ships with an improved Surface Pen equipped with 1024 pressure sensitive points and an eraser button. The redesigned Type Cover boasts of having a fingerprint scanner and is apparently quieter and more spaced out than previous versions. The tablet flaunts a 12.3-inch PixelSense display with a resolution of 2736 x 1824p.

Furthermore, the screen of the Surface Pro 4 is protected by Gorilla Glass 4 and comes with Palm Block technology to allow users to rest their hands on the surface while writing. The device houses a 5MP front-facing shooter and an 8MP autofocus rear lens. Microsoft has granted the tablet face recognition abilities, letting consumers bypass passwords using Windows Hello.
