Microsoft Tag

The wait for Microsoft’s Tag to come out of beta is over. According to the official Microsoft blog, the company has pulled Tag out of beta more than a year after its launch. Tag allows businesses and other users to link mobile tags to web pages directly and utilize the application reader offered by the company.

Users are provided with the facility to create and track their Tags in order to find out who’s using them. Microsoft has revealed plans to incorporate additional value-added services namely, real-time locations, advanced reporting, analytics and so on in the near future.

Tag has gained a lot of popularity in fields such as consumer packaged goods, entertainment, transit, real estate and more. Amsterdam hosts a Tag-led tour that makes use of Tags on museums, restaurants, bars and many landmarks. Tags make it possible to scan a product in newspapers and discover facts about its availability, special offers or purchase details among others.

Users can create Microsoft Tags, link them to websites and use the reader application free of charge.
