Microsoft has finally released the much-awaited Office application for the Apple iPad and the software giant says that it has ‘reimagined’ the app and at the same time, has retained features of the suite that people have come to love. The software continues to have the same look and feel that are associated with MS Office and the company says that it has used the iPad’s touch functionality to its fullest to ensure an intuitive experience. Also, Office Mobile for the iPhone and Android devices will now be available for free.

The free version of the application lets you view Word, Excel as well as PowerPoint documents on your Apple tablet. But if you wish to create new documents or edit the existing ones, you are required to sign up for the Office 365 subscription. This subscription covers up to 5 tablets as well as 5 copies of software on PCs and Macs.

Microsoft claims that your documents look exactly like they do on a computer, on your iPad. All the essential features of Word, Excel as well as PowerPoint can be found on this as well.
