Microsoft Office 365 launched for college students in India

College students in India can make the most of the Microsoft Office 365 University edition as the company has announced that it will be offering a 4-year subscription of the software for Rs 4,199. This suite can be installed on any two PCs based on either Windows 7 or 8 or Mac OS X 10.6 and later platforms.

Students from all recognized universities and colleges can make the most of this offer. It is available online and this is probably the first time when the software giant has introduced its products on subscription basis in the country. Microsoft Office 365 includes Word, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher and Access. And if that’s not enough, those who subscribe for this suite will also be the recipient of 20GB of free SkyDrive cloud storage that comes in very handy for storing documents and project work.

Apart from this, even teachers and faculty members can take full advantage of this offer and those who are in the final year of the college, can also get the subscription for a period of four years. Sukhvinder Ahuja, Director of Cloud and Office says that they have a list of all the colleges in the country and are making the software available only online to eliminate possibilities of its misuse.

The director of the company has also revealed that if a student is unable to get a copy of the suite, he or she can scan and send their marksheets or identity cards and they will get access to the utility within 3 days. Students can continue using the software after they pass out and their subscription is over by choosing a plan starting at $12 per month.

The Microsoft Office 365 University edition is now available in India.
