Microsoft Lumia 650 spotted on Amazon India for Rs 16599

The Microsoft Lumia 650 has popped up on Amazon India, indicating the handset is set to make its way to the country soon. The device made its international debut back in February this year and came out in the US and Canada just a few days ago.

Notably, the Microsoft Lumia 650 is the brand’s first phone offering of 2016. The series has not been doing well against its iOS and Android competitors, vending only 4.5 million units in the last quarter of 2015. The new smartphone is being touted as an affordable product by the company given its $199 (approx Rs 13500) price tag.

However, the Amazon listing of the Lumia 650 had pegged its value at Rs 16599 for the white variant and Rs 16700 for the black one. The pages for both models had displayed the cost earlier in the day but now say the two are unavailable. There’s a chance the cost will be different when it’s officially launched in India, given the fact that this listing was by a third-party retailer.

The Microsoft handset is also being sold via other e-commerce sites like eBay India at a cheaper rate. The brand is trying to position the device as an ideal business companion, emphasizing its in-built security, compatibility with Microsoft IT platforms and apps like Office 365 and OneNote.
