Microsoft Lumia 550 with Windows 10 lands in India at Rs 9399

The Microsoft Lumia 550 has finally arrived in India and is set to hit shops here starting from next week priced at Rs 9399. The phone is currently the most affordable phone by the brand to ship in-built with Windows 10 Mobile.

To recall, the 4G-ready Microsoft Lumia 550 made its debut globally alongside the Lumia 950 and 950 XL back in October. It began vending in Europe just last week. The entry-level phone flaunts a 4.7-inch LCD 720p screen which features a pixel density of 315ppi and enhanced support for outdoor readability.

Moving on to its camera department, the Lumia 550 carries a 5MP autofocus rear snapper packaged with an aperture of f/2.4, manual exposure and white balance tools, and LED flash. Selfies and video calls are taken care of thanks to a 2MP front-facing lens accompanied by an aperture of f/2.8 and 480p video recording capabilities.

Microsoft has granted the handset a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, working in step with an Adreno 304 GPU. As for its memory specs, the device contains 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal space. Users can add up to 200GB of extra room via microSD card slot.

A 2100mAh battery keeps the engine of the Lumia 550 running. Microsoft guarantees it can survive for 28 days of standby time and 16 hours of talk time on a 2G network. Connectivity options consist of Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0, A-GPS and GLONASS.

The Microsoft Lumia 550 will be available in black and white colors. Once again, it’s expected to release in India next week and can be bought for Rs 9399.
