Games Hub Mango Update

Microsoft seems to be paying heed to customer requests, incorporating their feedback for the Hub in the upcoming software update. The company announced new improved features for the Games Hub in Mango. It boasts of a cleaner and lighter design that displays user’s game collection and Xbox Live information.

The Hub offers an enhanced collection view with downloaded games arranged in alphabetical order. Finding games is made easy with a new Recent category that displays three last played titles on top of the collection list.

3D Avatars will now be a standard part of the Games Hub. They will be more interactive with actions like yawning, waving and even dance or faint when users shake their phone. The Xbox Extra apps will be integrated into the hub with features like reading and replying to messages sent from Windows Phone, PC or from an Xbox console.

Users can find Xbox Live friends through the friend status view and even browse, initiate or respond to their requests directly from the phone. They may even compare game scores and achievements of games played from the phone, console or PC. The news and information from Spotlight will also be improved. Users will receive notifications for multiplayer games in the Requests section of the Hub.

The Mango will be available this fall.
