Microsoft is issuing prorated refunds to Office 365 users

Microsoft recently announced that it has made its Office services available for free to all those who use them on their iPhone or iPad devices. This move proved to be hurtful to a large number of people who were previously using the suite by paying for it using Office 365 packages.

With an aim of providing some much needed respite to them, the Redmond-based giant has disclosed that prorated refunds will be offered to them soon. Those who have already paid for Office 365 subscriptions with an aim of unlocking the locked iPhone and iPad features can now apply for getting their cash back, but there’s a catch here.

Microsoft Office

This applies only to Home or Personal subscriptions, as Business ones have been kept out of the purview. In order to be eligible for the refund, you ought to have purchased your Office 365 subscription on or after March 27, 2014. Moreover, you should have activated it prior to November 6, and must request for a refund by January 31 of next year.

A person’s refund will be ready by after six to eight weeks following the process. It has been revealed furthermore, that those who have purchased a subscription through Apple will need to contact the iTunes Store Support directly to initiate their request. As for those who have bought it via Microsoft or a third-party reseller, they’ll be needed to get in touch with a Microsoft agent.

Those with iPhones and iPads can now experience the main features of Microsoft Office apps like Word, Excel and PowerPoint for free. All they need to do to start using them is sign in with their Microsoft accounts.
