Microsoft begins ‘Must Have Games’ program from May 25 onwards

Gaming enthusiasts can gear up to dive into a series of games as Microsoft sheds light on its highly-anticipated six weeks of ‘Must Have Games’ program for Windows Phone. Well, the company has also revealed the each of the six titles along with their pricing and release details that should spruce things up over the coming six weeks.

The six weeks of ‘Must Have Games’ countdown begins with a remake of the acclaimed arcade classic Hydro Thunder Go. This title takes gamers through 12 ferocious courses on a powerboat. After wiping out 15 devious opponents included in this game, we can take delight in Doodle Jump. The game empowers players to blast baddies through balls released from the nose. While playing Doodle Jump, Windows Phone users have to leap from platform to platform using springs, propeller hats and jet packs to avoid broken platforms, menacing black holes and UFOs.

The next entrant is geoDefense wherein players will wage war against a horde of vibrant, vector-styled enemies. Soon, players can plunge into the addictive Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I. In this title, proud Windows Phone consumers are reintroduced to Dr. Eggman who is making every attempt to get rid of Sonic. When it comes to the ‘Must Have Games’ list, how could Plants vs Zombies manage to stay put? This nerve-cracking title requires gamers who can think fast and plant faster to slay the ever increasing number of zombies.

The last in the lineup is the much acclaimed Angry Birds that allows players to take revenge on the green pigs who stole the birds’ eggs. This Windows Phone edition touts of challenging physics-based gameplay and 195 levels.

The lineup beginner Hydro Thunder Go will be up for grabs from May 25 through Microsoft Game Studios with a price tag of $4.99. This will be followed by Doodle Jump that can be picked up from June 1 through GameHouse for $2.99, while geoDefense coming on June 8 can be owned via Microsoft Game Studios by paying $2.99. Gamers can also avail Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I from June 15 onwards through SEGA by shelling out $6.99. And last but not the least are Plants vs Zombies and Angry Birds priced at $4.99 and $2.99, respectively. While Plants vs Zombies will be available on PopCap from June 22, Angry Birds adorn the Rovio store from June 29.
