Micromax Yu Yuphoria details emerge through new teaser videos, launch taking place on May 12

Anyone following news regarding Micromax’s Yu Yuphoria smartphone will be aware of the fact that the company really is very committed to its teaser campaign. It has now gone on to try its hand at a making videos about the phone go viral.

The 12th of May is when this new device will be unveiled, and ahead of its launch, its makers have released a video looking to suggest that it’s a pretty sturdy handset. This clip – purposely shot with a smartphone camera and that too vertically to give it a viral video look – shows a person accidentally dropping the device on the floor.

Following this, someone utters, “the Yuphoria is fine” before the camera is pointed towards the floor which has a broken tile to imply that the device actually broke it. As ridiculous as this sounds, it does give us the idea that the company has made this handset sturdy enough to endure small drops.

It could also be inferred that the Yuphoria may come with a metal frame. If that’s true, then it’s really ready to kill its competition. The second clip shows a person holding the device in front of a lady and playing a sound track on it. It’s suggested that the handset’s speakers are so loud that they cause the lady’s hair to fly all over the place.

This successor to the Yureka will ship with a 64-bit processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB worth of storage space. It will moreover be seen running the Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Cyanogen 12 OS. These are the only things we know about the device, but we can guess that 4G LTE support and an HD or full HD display will also form part of its offerings.
