Micromax is up to something big, and apparently that something big happens to be a Redmi 2 competitor which the company will be selling at a price under Rs 6000. Equipped with similar specs to those of the popular Xiaomi handset, this device could be released by the end of this month by the Gurgaon-based firm.
Although the exact hardware of the upcoming Micromax handset is still unknown, we’ve been told that it will carry onboard a display measuring somewhere between 4.3 to 5 inches. Additionally, the smartphone is expected to be powered by a quad core processor, but the chipset on which this CPU will be sitting is not clear.
Industry sources have told The Times of India that the Redmi 2 killer from Micromax will be sold in the form of flash sales by the company. For using this sales model, the company is most likely to take advantage of Snapdeal. This will be the first time that the e-commerce website will be used for a flash sale by a smartphone maker.

Clues about this partnership between the two players were dropped by a Twitter conversation between the handles of both these brands, which you can read yourself in the space below. With a handset placed around the Rs 6000 mark, Micromax will not only be challenging the Xiaomi Redmi 2, but also the second generation Moto E and the Lenovo A6000, among others.
