The fourth flash sale of the popular Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 is taking place on August 25 and registrations for it close on August 24 at midnight. The handset is valued at Rs 5999 and can be bought exclusively through Flipkart starting from 12 noon.
Like before, the units will be available on a first-come first-serve basis. The Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 sold out within minutes at its earlier flash sales. The budget offering from the India-based company seems to be a hit with consumers going by the response it’s got so far. It may be because it’s managed to differentiate itself from other entry-level phones by offering high-end specs at an appealing price.
The Canvas Xpress 2 has a 5-inch 720p display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and Native Damage Resistance. Under the hood, it has an octa-core 1.4GHz MediaTek MT6592M chipset and a 2500mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 9 hours of talk time and 393 hours of standby time. The handset runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the brand promising an upgrade to Lollipop 5.1 in the future.

The dual-SIM smartphone has a 13MP BSI autofocus main camera with dual-LED flash and 5P Largan Lens. Selfies are taken through its 2MP front-facing lens with an OV sensor. The Micromax device has an integrated Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo DAC sound system combined with bottom-facing speakers for better audio quality. It has 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 8GB of ROM, expandable till 32GB.
