Micromax Canvas smartphones get ready for their Android KitKat 4.4 break

It looks like Micromax is preparing to unleash Android KitKat 4.4 upon most of its Canvas series members. Accompanying this rumor is a screenshot of what appears to be official company documentation indicating the same. All in all, 15 handsets are supposedly lined up to receive a software update and the list includes the unannounced A200 too.

The story was outed by serial Micromax leaker, MMXNewscaster, via Twitter. Since the concerned picture is captioned with words referring to the New Year, we’re assuming KitKat will come to Canvas in 2014. The details that broke cover don’t offer anything on the ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival).

Micromax Canvas Android KitKat Update

The phones which are noted to be on the receiving end of Android 4.4 include the Canvas series A117, A116, A114, A111, A110, A110Q and A116i. If you own a Canvas Doodle 2 A240, Canvas 4 A210 or Canvas Turbo A250, don’t worry, these are on the roster too.

The A115 and A113 are slated for an Android Jelly Bean v4.2.1 upgrade. On the other hand, the A100 and A101 are evidently lined up for a v4.1 refresh. You couldn’t possibly have the A200 since it’s yet to be launched, as noted above.

The rumored specs of the Micromax A200 span over 1GB RAM, a 1.3GHz quad core chip, an 1800mAh battery, 4GB ROM, an 8MP camera and a 5MP webcam. An HD touchscreen of 4.7 inches could grace the front, which means it’s not going to be a phablet since at least 5 inches is the norm.

Now for KitKat.
