Turns out that the Micromax Canvas Doodle 3 A102 which has been unveiled for a price of Rs 8500 is a downgrade from its predecessor rather than an upgrade. This is a pretty unusual move by Micromax which does not explain the pig in its teaser video, nor the reason as to why the Doodle 3 couldn’t have been branded with any other name.
We mean, you’d expect a higher end phone with every new generation device in the series, right? What are we going to have next, an even cheaper Doodle 4 with a single core processor and 6.3-inch screen? Also, is Mr. Pig meant to hide some sort of meta-joke we don’t understand?
Before starting to scratch your head over the pig mascot for the newly announced Canvas Doodle 3, here are some features you’ll want to know about. The A102 handset has a 6-inch 480 x 854p display as opposed to the 5.7-inch 1280 x 720p panel on the older device. The latter happened to be launched for Rs 20000 or so.
The Canvas Doodle 3 A102 comes loaded with an M!Doodle app which lets you scribble images, smileys and what not and send them to friends. It has a dual core chipset from MediaTek helping to keep its final cost low and there’s 512MB of RAM along with 4GB ROM as well as 32GB microSD cad support.
