Meizu M1 Note ready to launch in India on May 18

The Meizu M1 Note phablet is soon making its way into India to take on the Redmi Note series from Xiaomi. The Chinese OEM has revealed that its first announcement is scheduled for on May 18 where it will reveal the new phone and its plans for setting up shop in the country.

The Meizu M1 Note was originally expected to go on sale sometime last month. So it looks like the company’s plans to launch in India have been delayed. The reason for this is unknown, but at least it isn’t going to be a much longer wait for fans in the country.

While other Chinese OEMs such as Lenovo, Xiaomi, Huawei and OnePlus are focusing on making their devices available through online channels at least in the start, Meizu will be taking a different approach. It’s said that the company will not create any exclusive partnerships and offer its devices online and offline.

Meizu is one of Xiaomi’s biggest rivals from China and the company is also looking to join the ranks of other popular OEMs in India. The M1 Note is its weapon of choice and the phone will have quite a bit of competition. The phablet offers a 5.5-inch FHD display and is powered by an octa core 64-bit MediaTek processor. Also, it runs a custom version of Android which is called the Flyme OS.
