Marvel Comics Android app gets an update

Marvel Comics Android App

Superhero comics fans from all over the world can find reason to rejoice with the Marvel Comics Android app which has been enhanced with some new features. Launched earlier this month, the app allows users to download hundreds of books featuring popular superhero characters such as Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine and others on their mobile phones with the touch of a button.

The updated version of this app is said to enable access to a collection of more than 3,500 comics which will be updated every week. It offers readers with customizable reading options to choose from such as panel to panel, animated and full page display, among others.

With the current updated version 1.0.3, users can employ simple controls such as zoom and pan to take in more of the rich, colorful artwork and illustrations. This application is capable of running on Android 2.1 and higher versions of the mobile OS and makes for a 1.8M download.

All the comic book downloads will be protected and backed up when users visit their Marvel.com account so that the next time they lose or upgrade a mobile phone, the comics will still remain where they were. Powered by comiXology, the app lets users subscribe to Marvel’s Digital Comics unlimited program that gives access to comic books for $10 a month or $60 a year.

The Marvel Comics app can be downloaded for free from the Android Market.
