Not long after the VRL report talked about replacement of plastic money, Loop Mobile has partnered with ZipCash to introduce Mobile Money service for its subscribers in Mumbai, India. This step in Mobile Value Added Services by the company will enable its Mumbai subscribers to use their mobile phones as a virtual wallet. This reminds of the PATS Parkmobile service, which is also based on somewhat similar lines.
With the ZipCash service, Loop Mobile consumers can make use of their mobile phones to make payments for electricity bills, prepaid recharges, digital TV recharge, online shopping, movie tickets, etc. Other than this, they can also book travel tickets, avail gift vouchers, local deals and offers using this service.

The company has also expressed the possibility of extending this service for restaurant payments in near future. Existing Loop subscribers can avail this service on their mobiles, without having to replace their SIM cards. Registering and managing this service comes free of cost.
Subscribers can register for Mobile Money service by ZipCash in any Loop Mobile gallery in Mumbai. They will be required to SMS Money to toll free 51888.
