BlackBerry users can now get their hands on the LinkedIn app. The latest application correlates to the previously launched applications for other smartphones like the iPhone and Palm Pre in order to provide users with options of utilizing LinkedIn away from their desktops and office PCs.

This BlackBerry application allows business professionals to use it along with their mail, calendar and contacts applications. The most important features of the application is search option which helps the user prepare for any meeting by checking on LinkedIn profiles. Users can manage their inboxes on the go via the application. It also provides the user with network updates, new connections, invitations to grow their professional network and reconnect with lost contacts.

“With the addition of the application for BlackBerry to our broader suite of mobile applications, LinkedIn is available to more business people than any other professional network in the world,” commented Adam Nash, vice president of search and platform products, LinkedIn. “This is an important step in our strategy to deliver business productivity tools to our members wherever their work takes them.”

While Tyler Lessard, Vice President, Global Alliance and developer relations, Research In Motion, feels that “The LinkedIn application leverages the always-on capabilities of the BlackBerry platform to enable easy and timely access to information for mobile users. Deep integration between the LinkedIn app and core communications apps on the BlackBerry smartphone also allows for a very productive and intuitive user experience.”

The application works on BlackBerry Tour, BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry Bold series. BlackBerry OS 4.3 or higher is required for functioning of the application. In case of full integration of original BlackBerry applications with the LinkedIn application, the user needs to possess OS 4.6 or higher. The application is set to be launched worldwide in English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and Chinese.
