The LG Optimus G Pro release date in the US has been finalized for the second quarter of this year, after a wave of speculations and intrigue surrounded its advent for the past one month or so. As stated by the company, buyers can expect to make a grab for it in South Korea by this week and Japan later on.
Further details of the Optimus G Pro which is a 5.5-inch phablet have been exposed by the maker. Joining forces with its sister company, Display, the manufacturer has created an IPS touchscreen which will be proffering a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device comes loaded with the latest version of Jelly Bean and it will be running on a 1.7GHz quad core Snapdragon 600 processor. It would also contain 2GB of RAM.
The company has incorporated a range of new UX features within the device, one of them being Dual Recording. This option allows users to take full HD videos from both, the 13MP rear camera and the 2.1MP front-facing lens, concurrently. Virtual Reality Panorama facilitates a complete 360 degree viewing by permitting shots to be taken of full horizontal and vertical environments. The maker has also thrown upgraded versions of utilities such as QuickMemo, QuickSlide and Live Zooming into the phone.
As per the leaked specifications that are at par with the actual ones, the device would be provided power by a 3140mAh Li-ion battery that can even be charged wirelessly. Users will be able to store up to 32GB of data and can also extend the space up to 32GB through the microSD card slot.
The LG Optimus Pro would be making an appearance at the MWC 2013 in Barcelona and those interested, can grab a quick peek of it at the expo. The company has stated that they are aiming for a release date in the second quarter for the US as well as Japan. They have further revealed that the phablet would be available in South Korea for a price of KRW 968,000 which would roughly translate to $897.
