LG L90 Dual Android 5.0 Lollipop software update gets rolled out in India

And out of the blue, the LG L90 Dual has been treated to Android 5.0 Lollipop which is certainly exciting news for those who picked up the attractive smartphone. For now, the new OS is only rolling out in India, but it will most certainly be available in other markets too in the coming weeks.

The LG L90 Dual was launched last year as a mid-range option and is one of the many members in the now-deceased L Series. Other handsets could be in queue to get the update as well, but there’s no confirmation as yet. What’s surprising is that the company has managed to bring the new OS to a relatively old phone so quickly.

GSMArena initially reported about the update being seeded to users in India. The LG phone will get all of the enhancements introduced with Lollipop, but it’s quite doubtful that it will see the latest Android version 5.1 head its way. According to the report, the firmware is a good 780MB in size and no changelog has been issued.

L90 Dual owners will most likely get treated to the same UI released for the G3 flagship along with various features exclusive from the company. The handset is basically the same as the G3 mini where hardware is concerned, but it’s quite interesting that the latter is yet to receive the new OS despite its flagship status.
