LG G5 pre-bookings to kick off on May 21

The LG G5 is finally going to arrive in India, months after debuting during the Mobile World Congress 2016 to critical acclaim. The modular handset will be up for pre-orders on May 21 via Flipkart, retail outlets and the brand’s own stores.

The pre-booking period will extend up to May 30. People who choose to buy the phone during this time will get a free LG Cam Plus, one of the many modular accessories the handset was first announced with. Unfortunately, the company has chosen not to reveal how much the LG G5 will be priced at as of now.

The main talking point when it comes to the G5 is its unique band of accessories dubbed LG Friends. These devices offer unique customization options for users. For instance, the aforementioned Cam Plus allows consumers to attach a camera grip to the back of the handset by sliding out the bottom half of the phone.

The Cam Plus gives users access to a number of buttons for doing things like turning the camera on or off, zooming in on a subject and clicking snaps. It even increases the battery capacity of the phone to 4000mAh. LG hasn’t announced what other companion gadgets are making its way to India yet.
