The LG G4 Beat is soon coming our way, with the company announcing that the handset is going to be released later this month in select countries. India will not be among those to get it first unfortunately, though it will launch here at a later date. The price hasn’t been revealed either, which is quite a disappointment. The phone is being marketed as an affordable variant of the G4 flagship smartphone.
The LG G4 Beat certainly retains the looks of the original model in terms of design, but is slightly smaller at 5.2 inches rather than 5.5 inches. Gone is the QHD display, replaced by a full HD screen. The processor has been changed too; it’s now a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. Other sacrifices were made in the form of internal memory changing from 32GB to 8GB, and RAM to 1.5GB from 3GB.
The G4 Beat comes with the company’s own LG UX 4.0 UI based on the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 OS. It derives its power through a 2300mAh battery. The phone’s main camera has a resolution of 8MP or 13MP (varies by region), with features such as Laser Auto Focus, Color Spectrum Sensor and Manual Mode. The 5MP front lens has a Gesture Interval Shot function that allows four selfies to be clicked with a single hand gesture.

The LG G4 Beat has a solid set of specs for a mid-range smartphone. It would have been better with higher amounts of RAM and internal space. We’re guessing the phone will cost around Rs 28000, based on the going rate for similarly outfitted LG handsets in India. We’ll keep you posted once more details are out closer to the launch.
