LG G3 flagship is also receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop update in India

The flagship status of the LG G3 should have brought users in India the Android Lollipop 5.0 update long ago. Well, it’s finally coming to these shores via an OTA (Over the air) upgrade and has apparently already landed through the LG Mobile Support Tool for the Windows OS.

This Android Lollipop package arrives in the form of a 1.1GB download for the LG G3 D855. The OTA update should be about half that size, says DigiPassion who has it installed. Some of the changes you can expect include new lock screen alerts, a better notification center and resigned user interface animations.

Below the surface, all the expected features such as improved security, better battery management and faster app loading time are also offered by the upgrade to Lollipop. A new T action function which lets you assign the ‘flip the phone’ gesture to a specific task will be dragged in too.

Then there’s a new task manager that displays open apps in tabbed style and a Color Inversion option which has the effect you’d imagine it to have based on how it’s named. Following the update, both the task-bar and notification area will be transparent.
