Lenovo S5000 tablet and Vibe X smartphone shine at IFA

Lenovo has made its way to Berlin with a tablet and a smartphone which come in the form of the S5000 and the Vibe X. These two Android 4.2-equipped products will be hitting markets later this year, but their pricing information has been kept a secret as of now. Let’s have a look at what the duo has in store for interested buyers.

The Lenovo S5000 is a competitor to the Nexus 7 and the iPad mini, and it’s lighter than both. Moreover, at 7.9mm, it’s quite slim a deal as well. It features a 7-inch display which grants it a high-definition resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. On its rear lies a 5MP camera, while its front carries a 1.6MP webcam for video calling purposes. The device runs on a quad core MediaTek 8389 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, and even kicks in 3G HSPA+ connectivity for certain markets. Its 3,450mAh battery keeps it going for up to eight hours on Wi-Fi.

Coming to the Vibe X smartphone, this premium device has been blessed with a polycarbonate body, an advanced mold and laser-engraved 3D tactile finish. It’s 6.9mm thin and weighs in at just 121 grams. Lenovo hasn’t cut corners in the display department, for it has granted the phone a full HD IPS panel covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. A 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper make up for its imaging attributes, whereas its internals include a quad core MTK 6589T 1.5GHz processor and 2GB worth of RAM. It will be doled out in 16GB and 32GB storage options.

The Lenovo Vibe X will be made available in China in October, while it will be making its way to remaining markets (other than Europe) in December. The S5000 tablet on the other hand, will be released in Q4 of this year.
