Lenovo A10 is company’s first attempt at an Android-powered laptop, how has it fared?

Branding it as an affordable and ultra-portable hybrid, Lenovo has unveiled the A10, a thin and lightweight Android 4.2-equipped machine which runs on a quad core processor. Exact price and availability details of the device haven’t been revealed as yet, but word on the Internet is that interested parties will need to shell out about $340 in order to lay their hands on it.

The Lenovo A10 is 17.3mm thin, and it tips the scales at less than 1kg. Being a hybrid, it comes equipped with a dual mode setup that enables it to act as a laptop as well as a tablet. When in the former mode, an ergonomic AccuType keyboard is available for inputting data. Moreover, a Lenovo-customized user interface is also made available by the A10, complete with a task bar and a status bar.

The screen of this setup is 10.1 inches in size, and throws its visuals out with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Detaching it from the keyboard, turns the device into a tablet which comes with 10-point multi-touch, stereo speakers and a 0.3MP webcam. 2GB worth of RAM has been pushed into the Lenovo A10 which gains steam from an RK3188 quad core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.6GHz.

This hybrid boasts of a battery that allows it to offer nine hours of continuous video playback. As far as storage is concerned, 32GB of internal memory is on offer, while a microSD card slot ensures the availability of further expansions.

There’s no word at the moment about when the Lenovo A10 will be landing in India, but we’ll have more on it when added details are out.
