Lava Xtron Z704 quad core 7-Inch Android KitKat slate made available in India for Rs 6499

A brand new 7-inch Lava Xtron Z704 tablet has been launched in India at a price of Rs 6499 and it’s said to be targeted at college students and young professionals. But it’s not like this device has anything to set it apart from rivals in the market in terms of productivity features.

The Lava Xtron Z704 is decent enough to look at from the front and then the design progresses to vaguely messy on the rear. Its back casing is painted in a dull silver color and embeds a 2MP camera without flash. A 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, generous bezel and VGA webcam take up space on the flip side.

The Z704 tablet runs on Android KitKat, 1GB of RAM and a quad core chip that we’d bet is of MediaTek origin. It is powered by a 4000mAh battery and does not support 3G. You get 16GB of onboard storage for hoarding all your content as well as a microSD card slot to accommodate up to 32GB of extra memory, if needed.

The Wickedleak Wammy Desire 3 which costs Rs 5990, brags about having much the same features as the Xtron Z704, though it’s a little less impressive in the battery and ROM departments. Another cheaper option to this new Lava slate is the Flipkart Digiflip Pro ET701 that stumbles only on a couple of counts.
