The Lava X81 has made its India debut and will be up for sale online exclusively via Flipkart on June 13. The phone will also hit offline physical stores on the same date.
The dual-SIM Lava X81 has been slapped with a Rs 11499 price tag. It’s a slightly different direction for the company to take, since most of its phones fall below the entry-level line. The phone comes across as a standard-issue mid-ranger. Top highlights include its sleek design, complete with a 2.5D curved glass display enhanced by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Lava is hoping to entice potential buyers into snapping up the handset by packaging it with an Airtel double data offer. It’s also providing for a certain degree of insurance by bundling a 1-year free screen replacement offer with the handset. Moreover, anyone who’d prefer a gold color variant of the device will have to wait for a month to get it.

The brand is additionally promising to add VoLTE support for the 4G-ready X81 via a FOTA (firmware over-the-air) update in the future. Other highlights of the smartphone include the fact that it’s running on Google’s latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and its 13MP/5MP camera setup which features LED flash on the front and rear surface.
