Lava introduces Flair Z1, priced at Rs 5699

The Lava Flair Z1, the latest addition to the brand’s series of budget smartphones, has been launched and is priced at Rs 5699. The handset will be available in offline retail stores starting from next week, and starts selling online exclusively via Snapdeal on July 30.

The dual-SIM Lava Flair Z1 is the most costly entry in the series after the Flair E1 and Flair P1. It’s a major upgrade over both, featuring a 5-inch TFT FWVGA (480 x 854p) screen and Android 5.0 Lollipop. It runs on a 1.3GHz quad-core processor along with by 1GB of RAM.

The device’s 2000mAh battery lasts for 15 hours 30 minutes on 2G and 9 hours 40 minutes on 3G. It contains 8GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 32GB. Selfies are taken through a 2MP front lens and the Lava phone sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and HD recording support.

Other features include Gesture Control functionality to launch apps from the lock screen, flip to mute and auto call recording. The Flair Z1 has dimensions of 143.5 x 72.5 x 8.9mm and weighs 160g. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0 and GPS.

The entry-level market is stuffed with competitors for the Lava Flair Z1. One such handset is the Micromax Canvas Spark, which is cheaper at Rs 4999. It has similar features except for a slightly smaller qHD (540 x 960p) 4.7-inch Gorilla Glass 3 screen and a better 8MP main camera.
