Lava IvoryE is a voice calling tablet outed in Indian market for Rs 6099

Now that the Lava IvoryE is out in India for Rs 7099, we’ve just noticed that it’s been a while since we reported about the homegrown company unveiling any tablets. We mean, way back in April this year, we had the IvoryS slate and we’ve only seen phones from Lava since then.

The most recent 7-inch competitor to the Lava IvoryE is the Asus Fonepad 7 which weakens arguments in its favor because of the its competitive price of Rs 10999. Since the former offers voice calling and has dual SIM slots too, we suspect a lot of buyers will consider it as a replacement for their regular handsets.

Because really, what’s an extra inch got to do with comfort when you’re already willing to commit to a phone as large as 6 inches and still call it a smartphone? The IvoryE arrives in color choices of silver and pale gold. It’s been listed by the company, but is still awaiting an official introduction.

Lava IvoryE tablet main specs lined up for your reading convenience:

What really stinks is that the Lava tablet runs on Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean instead of going with KitKat. Also, there’s no 3G support at a time when network operators who provide 3G services are encouraging everyone to switch to this faster option over 2G. What’s more, the device only embeds a dual core chip.
