Lava Iris X5 4G with 8MP selfie lens launched for Rs 10750

The Lava Iris X5 4G has been launched in India for Rs 10750 and is currently available at a discounted price of Rs 10199 on Amazon. The latest entry in the company’s series of budget handsets is the first to carry its new Android 5.1.1 based Star OS.

Other than 4G connectivity, the main highlight of the Lava Iris X5 4G is its selfie camera. The front facing unit has a resolution of 8MP and comes with LED flash and an 84-degree wide angle lens. The handset’s main snapper takes images measuring up to 13MP and is accompanied by dual-LED flash. Both feature a 1.4 micron large pixel size and Largan lens with a blue glass filter.

The dual-SIM Iris X5 4G has a decent list of specs for a mid-range phone. It possesses a 5-inch IPS 720p display protected by Asahi Dragontrail Glass. The device is powered by a 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor combined with a Mali-T720 GPU. On the memory front, it has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD.

The 2500mAh battery of the Lava phone supposedly lasts for over 24 hours on a 2G network. Its connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB 2.0 and A-GPS. The smartphone measures 141.6 x 70.8 x 7.6mm and weighs 128g.
