The flash sale of the Xiaomi Redmi 1S this week took 13.9 seconds before it had the device out of stock through online retailer Flipkart. Well, we’ll never know whether Xiaomi is secretly wallowing in disappointment or actually trying to make the figures look believable.
Just like it did on September 16, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S sales started at 2pm on Flipkart with a 60000-strong army of units. Last week, all available pieces were claimed to have been purchased within 5.2 seconds of them going up for grabs. It’s possible that there was a little less enthusiasm from buyers on September 29.
In a tweet thanking its customers, Xiaomi did not go on to confirm when the next sale for the Redmi 1S would be held. But it did tease fans with hints about something special scheduled for the following week. It’s either the Redmi Note handset launch or an announcement about the Mi 3 and Redmi 1S going up for sale like regular smartphones.

Enough with the flash smartphone sales already, Xiaomi. The Chinese company revealed the Redmi Note along with the other two in July. And we haven’t heard about the former since then. So it’s possible that we should be gearing up for its arrival soon. After all, the Diwali shopping season is already upon us.
