kbb.com Android app hops in to offer car shopping information

Kelley Blue Book Logo Back in February, Cars.com pampered iPhone owners with an application which renders car shopping details. Kelley Blue Book has now decided to offer the same services to Android users in the form of the kbb.com app. The same application is also available for iOS- and Windows Phone 7-powered handsets.

All the crucial car-buying and car-selling information in order to make purchase decisions is provided by the application. Interestingly, users can place a widget on their homescreen to track the value of their vehicle. This widget lends updated data about the trade-in value of users’ cars or the vehicle value’s performance in the marketplace. Owners can access the widget after downloading the application.

“Kelley Blue Book took the Android app a step further in creating a pricing widget, giving consumers the information they need at their fingertips. The information found in the app and widget can help car buyers and sellers make more educated decisions with a better understanding of their current ride’s value and what is considered a great deal for a new vehicle,” asserted Justin Yaros, executive vice president of product design and development for Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com. “With the all-new app, kbb.com provides trusted valuation information not currently found within the Android Market.”

Specifically for the holiday season, the kbb.com app featuring snow and a sledding child includes a winter-themed ‘Easter egg’. The offering also provides access to new- and used-car Kelley Blue Book Values, including retail price, invoice, fair purchase price, certified pre-owned, suggested retail, private party and trade-in values. Furthermore, it subsumes data of local dealers with detailed maps and directions as well as Twitter feed for further ease.

The latest kbb.com Android application can now be downloaded from the Android Market for free.
