K Touch A20 3G phone with Android KitKat outed in India for Rs 2999

Setting the bar even lower when it comes to the price at which you can buy an Android device, the K Touch A20 3G smartphone has been introduced in India for Rs 2999 only. That’s the kind of money you would expect to pay for a feature phone, wouldn’t you agree?

There’s no dearth of inexpensive Android options on these shores, but their costs still manage to surprise us at times. The K Touch A20 is the kind of hardware that would be considered by a first-time smartphone user or someone on the hunt for a backup device.

You’ll find the A20 to be stuffed with very basic specs starting from its 3-inch capacitive touchscreen to its 1GHz processor (probably single core) of unnamed origin to its 3MP rear camera. The manufacturing company has managed to fit a flash unit to support the main lens however. But there’s no front snapper present, to no one’s surprise.

The K Touch smartphone runs on Android KitKat 4.4 and embeds two SIM card slots. It gets its kicks from what feels like an insufficient 256MB of RAM and only 2GB of ROM is available. But you can still add more memory space by slipping in a microSD card. There’s support for 3G networks and a 1300mAh battery keeps the device powered up.
