iPhone X pre-orders begin in India

The iPhone X went up for pre-orders in India today and immediately got sold out less than an hour after it went live. Amazon and Flipkart are stating that the handset is currently unavailable and out of stock, respectively.

Neither site states when the next round of pre-booking will commence, so consumers will have no option but to click on the ‘Notify Me’ button. Alternatively, they can look to offline shops and pre-order the device from there. Anyone who lucks out on both counts will just have to wait till November 3 and rush to get it from an authorized retailer.

Flipkart is offering a bunch of deals to people who pre-book the iPhone X. They can get up to Rs 10000 as cashback if they buy the phone using a Citi Credit or Citi World Debit Cards. They can also get Rs 22000 as cashback if they snap up the handset bundled with the Apple Watch.

Another scheme serves up Rs 15000 as cashback if the iPhone X is purchased alongside the Apple AirPods. Flipkart’s also announced a buyback deal worth up to Rs 52000 if the owner upgrades to a new iPhone in 2018. It’s also serving up an extended 1-year warranty and a Rs 20000 discount upon exchange.

As for Amazon India, it’s also applying the same Rs 10000 Citibank offer for the iPhone X. The deal can be combined with Reliance Jio’s 70% buyback plan which is estimated to be worth Rs 62300 after 12 months. Customers will have to opt for the telecom operator’s Rs 799 monthly postpaid/prepaid plan during this time, effectively paying Rs 9588 in a year.
