iPhone SMS Vulnerability to be addressed by Apple

iPhone SMS Vulnerability We all know about the iPhone overheating issue that has occurred. Apparently nothing can be done about that problem. Besides that, there is another issue with the iPhone that may hopefully be solved by the end of this month.

Engadget reports that it is possible to “run software code on the phone that is sent by SMS over a mobile operator’s network in order to monitor the location of the phone using GPS, turn on the phone’s microphone to eavesdrop on conversations, or make the phone join a distributed denial of service attack or a botnet.”

This problem was caught by OS X security expert Charlie Miller and was presented at the SyScan conference in Singapore. This vulnerability will be completely addressed at the upcoming Black Hat conference.
