The next generation Apple device seems to be revealing itself in bits and pieces and the latest to come forth is the iPhone 5 logic board. Images of this particular hardware component have been leaked on the web.
Basically, the pictures display the front and back of the logic board that essentially holds the SoC and other chips. Apparently, the board is different from that of the iPhone 4 or 4S. However, the images seem to be rather mysterious as they do not provide a proper view of the board’s loaded components.
This is because the metal shield hiding the chipset is in place and has not been taken off. For now, it seems that fans have to wait to acquire the hardware’s specifications. The leaked images originally appeared on a Chinese forum dubbed Weiphone.
The last few months have seen many iPhone 5 speculations, which is definitely not something unexpected considering that its release is purportedly looming. According to a post on Mac Rumors, a similar logic board hiding the A5 processor was spotted during the iPhone 4S launch too.
As for the upcoming device, there were talks about Apple ditching the 30-pin dock connector. We also heard about the company incorporating a large display and a unibody design. Considering that the next generation iDevice leaks are adding up with each passing day, we could believe that the production is indeed revving up.
The Apple handset is expected to be unveiled on September 12. At the moment, the rumored iPhone 5 logic board images have not showed anything concrete.
