It has been designed for enabling users to take pride in creating, editing and sharing self-made videos through their handsets.
The version 1.0 app lets users add or record videos by simply tapping the screen and zoom the content by pinching the display. Users can trim long videos and images by dragging them and flip through the video by sliding their finger on the screen. Videos maybe enhanced by choosing from a host of themes namely, Modern, Bright, Travel, Playful, and News.
Each theme is backed by a suitable set of titles and transitions as well as a playback track. The app allows titles and graphics to be updated automatically through the location data on the video. Users may make their themes more attractive by adding music and photos through the song library or the photo gallery on the handset.
Additionally, the app controls the background volume and highlights audio in the video. Each image can be personalized as per requirement with the Ken Burns panning effect. Movies can be exported in one of three sizes which are medium, large or HD. Users can display their videos online for everyone to see in MobileMe gallery or on YouTube.
The iMovie app is expected to take up about 30.6MB of storage capacity. Movies and videos can be shared with friends and family through an e-mail or as an MMS message. After the video is complete, users may also sync it back to their PCs. The app requires iPhone OS 4.0 or later versions for its functioning.
It is available in an array of languages like English, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish.
