If word on the street is to be believed, Apple will be raising the prices of its next-gen iPhone 14 Pro models this year. A report has stated that these phones might arrive with a $100 increase in their price, while another report has stated that they could debut as early as September 7.

The rise in the cost of smartphone components and the added functionality of the new Pro models is cited to be the main reason for this possible price rise. To justify this $100 increase in the retail value, Apple could increase the amount of storage offered by the base models of both these iPhone 14 Pro models.

It is believed that only the Pro models of this year’s iPhone will ship with the new A16 Bionic chip. The other two models (a regular variant and a new big-screened variant) will apparently opt for the A15 Bionic chip that has been around since last year on the iPhone 13 range. These claims have been made by Wedbush Securities analyst Daniel Ives in a new investor report.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has predicted September 7 to be the unveiling date of these handsets. It is also being said that the launch event will be streamed rather than being held as an in-person gathering.

Apart from the iPhone 14 range, Apple fans can also expect to see updates to the Apple Watch at this upcoming event. A new rugged model and a revised Apple Watch SE are being touted to make a debut as well. Moreover, the next-gen AirPods Pro with lossless audio support are also expected to make a debut at the event.

We’ll have more on the Apple iPhone 14 range when newer details are out.
