Iomega SuperHero Backup and Charger for iPhone surges into India

Iomega SuperHero DockEarlier this month, we reported that Iomega unleashed a new innovative solution for iPhone users. This multi-task offering is now seen making its way to Indian shores. The company entices Apple handset owners with the SuperHero Backup and Charger for iPhone. This latest product comes handy especially for individuals who wish to retain all their contacts and photos in the wake of damage, or theft.

This first-of-its-kind Iomega gadget is an apt device for owners who don’t regularly sync their iPhone with iTunes. Keeping anxiety and anguish of losing precious data from the handset at bay, the new entrant automatically backs up photos and contacts stored on the iPhone when users charge the handset on the stand. The device is looked upon as a compact docking station that can be accommodated on a nightstand, counter or desktop and directly fits into a standard wall outlet. Highly portable in nature, a 4GB SD card is also integrated within the device for storing the data.

“Our internal research and personal experiences tell us there are many iPhone users across the globe that have their entire lives on their phones and yet they rarely if ever plug their phone into their computer and back up it up,” revealed Praveen Sahai, Director of Sales – India & SAARC, Iomega. “With the Iomega SuperHero Backup and Charger, if disaster strikes they can restore their contacts and photos to a new iPhone by simply docking it in the SuperHero and selecting the restore button. For millions and millions of busy iPhone users, Iomega’s SuperHero Backup and Charger is the ideal alternative to a frantic cry to all your Facebook friends to resend the contact info because you lost your phone, much less never being able to retrieve those unique photos on the phone. Iomega has created an inexpensive, practical insurance policy for every iPhone user that values the data on their phones as much or more than the phone itself.”

To avail of the innovate features, all users have to do is download the free SuperHero iPhone app from the Apple Store to get started. As they can name their iPhones, multiple Apple handsets can be charged as well as backed up. There is a progress bar indicating that the backup is complete. In the event of damage or loss of information via the iPhone, the handset can restore the photos and contacts by opting for the ‘restore’ button. The charger is compatible with the iPhone 4, 3G, 3GS as well as third and fourth generation iPod Touch.

The Iomega SuperHero Backup and Charger for iPhone is slated to release in India on February 14, 2011 and will come tagged with a price tag of Rs. 4,499 and backed by a 3 year limited warranty.
