Intex unveils Cloud X4 and Y2 for the budget conscious in India

The Intex Cloud X4 and Cloud Y2 have been launched formally, but don’t set out to look for them just yet through online portals. Even with official recognition presented, the Intex Cloud smartphones have still to spring up on most of the major shopping stores.

It is quite understood that both smartphones support dual SIM cards, bearing in mind that they are aimed at the developing economies. The Intex Cloud X4 is the relatively inexpensive device of the two, featuring a 3.5-inch touch display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. It gets its high from a dual core processor running at a clock speed of 1GHz.

The integrated 3.2MP rear-facing camera takes charge of facilitating activities such as taking snapshots and recording videos, while the responsibility of ensuring live face-to-face conversations has been delegated to the incorporated VGA webcam. Inbuilt storage capacity of 4GB seems a bit disappointing, but the embedded expansion slot which can support a microSD card of up to 32GB should offer some comfort.

Those who wish that the device could perform slightly better than it does presently can pay attention to the Intex Cloud Y2 instead. Sporting a 4-inch capacitive touch panel, the smartphone comes bundled with a 5MP camera on the flip side and a 1.3MP webcam on the front.

Its chipset may be home to a dual core configuration similar to the aforementioned handset, but it takes up a clock speed of 1.2GHz. There’s more storage space to hoard content as the manufacturer has provided 4GB of the same. Of course, there is still the chance that this could be insufficient and thus, a TF card of up to 32GB can always be inserted in such cases.

The presence of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean in low-budget smartphones isn’t a rare sight and the smartphones have just hopped onto the bandwagon. Even the battery capacity of each happens to scale up to 1,500mAh. App-wise, watch out for inbuilt services including Matrabhasha to employ the device in one’s own mother tongue, Intexzone to have easy access to the company’s website and more.

Seen attached to the Cloud X4 is a price label of Rs 4,590, while the Cloud Y2 has been smeared with a Rs 6,190 tag.
