The Intex Aqua Star 4G has been unveiled in India and comes preloaded with a new iData Saver tool. The feature works on Opera Max, with the company claiming it’s the first local brand to integrate the function into its phone.
To recollect, the 3-month old Samsung Galaxy J2 ships with an Ultra Data Saving mode which is powered by Opera Max as well. The iData Saver feature in the Intex Aqua Star 4G promises to cut down on internet consumption by up to 50% by compressing the data used by apps. The brand further asserts the tool is useful while browsing through media-rich applications such as YouTube or Instagram.
Other than its data conservation powers, the dual-SIM Intex Aqua Star 4G has a standard set of specs for an entry-level offering. It sports a 5-inch 720p IPS display and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Under the hood, the handset is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor working hand-in-hand with 1GB of RAM and a 2000mAh battery.

The Intex device packs 8GB of internal space, which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. Coming to its photography capabilities, the phone carries an 8MP main camera accompanied by LED flash. There’s also a 2MP one on the front surface for selfies and video calls. Connectivity options consist of Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB 2.0 and Bluetooth.
