Instapaper-like ‘save for reading later’ feature is coming soon to Facebook

If you are one of those who cannot find enough time to go through all the interesting content that your friends share on Facebook, you will be glad to know that the SNS has come up with a solution for your problem. The social network is reportedly testing a ‘save for later’ feature that basically takes a leaf out of the Instapaper’s and Pocket’s books.

Apparently, you will have a separate list where you can save all the links that you cannot go through at once, but wish to peruse sometime later. As we said, the feature is being tested as of now and the company hasn’t mentioned anything about it, but the guys over at AllThingsD were informed about the same by the technology blog that goes by the name of MyTechSkool.

Reportedly, a small icon that appears similar to the iBook bookmark button will be attached to the links shared in the News Feed and all users have to do is click on it and save. And this list called ‘saved’ can be found in the apps menu of Facebook. AllThingsD even tried to get in touch with the SNS to know more about the new attribute, but the company refused to comment.

Facebook wishes to make users discover and read third party publishers and this is a step forward in this particular direction. As of now, it hasn’t appeared on many people’s timelines, but we are expecting a full fledged roll out pretty soon. In case you come across the feature on your News Feed, do tell us.
