Indians know how to enjoy vacations without their mobile devices, claims survey

Indians hold fast to the idea of keeping their vacations and work life separate, with 80 percent of them willing to ditch their mobile devices while on holiday. The numbers come from a Hotels survey which says that folks from Thailand are more likely to cling onto their gadgets for dear life even when relaxing at some beach resort or any other escape from routine.

Dubbed Disconnect to Reconnect, the poll was designed to calculate the digital vacationing habits of people across 28 countries in the world. Participants from Thailand proved they just couldn’t unwind, with 85 percent claiming to be unwilling to let go of their mobiles. The list of top three areas boasting of implied workaholics were finished with 78 percent and 69 percent from Korea and Japan, respectively.

China and Singapore also led the charge of people addicted to their mobile devices by having 67 percent and 60 percent of participants from these nations saying they can’t spend their vacations away from such technology. With the top five regions of gadget buffs coming from Asian, the Western perception of most employees from this continent being hardworking can scarcely be labelled unfounded or biased in any way.

But all’s not lost when it boils down to Asians being unable to disconnect seeing as 80 percent of survey respondents from India were quite willing to part with their mobile phones while holidaying. The five most important travel necessities for Americans are said to include passports, smartphones, sunscreen, swimwear and sunglasses. Oddly enough considering the 2nd item, 65 percent of participants from this nation said they were comfortable giving up their mobile gadgets.
