Idea Cellular has announced the launch of two new international roaming packs for its post paid customers which cut down the voice and data costs by a considerable amount. And these packs are applicable in as many as 40 countries around the globe which are frequently visited by Indians such as the US, the UK, the UAE, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, China, France, Thailand, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland amongst others.
The carrier which takes the third spot amongst all network providers in the country has already rolled out the data plans from today onwards. It has cut down the voice calling rates by up to 80 percent and data tariffs have gone down by 90 percent of the standard international roaming rates. One of the packs has a rental of Rs 599 and the other will set you back by Rs 1,499. The former’s validity is limited to 10 days, whereas the latter will let you enjoy the reduced rates for an entire month and provide 30 minutes of free incoming calls.
These offers have been introduced at this particular time because the peak holiday season is about to kick off and this is the time when most Indians travel abroad, mostly to the nations that the data packs cover. This bit of information has been provided by the Chief Marketing Officer of Idea, Sashi Shankar.
As we said, these offers have already gone live starting today and are only available for post paid Idea customers. Vodafone and Aircel are a couple of other operators who recently introduced international roaming packs for select regions.
