Idea 4G now available in four more states

Idea Cellular has expanded its 4G reach to 4 more states in India and is now accessible by customers in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Punjab. The telecom operator plans to start its LTE services in the Maharashtra and Goa, North East and Orissa circles by March 2016. Reliance Jio is expected to launch its high-speed network around the same time as well.

To recollect, Idea had launched its 4G platform last month in 5 states across South India namely Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka. With the new push towards the northern regions, the company asserts it will be present in 183 towns across 7 circles by 31 January. It’s apparently received over 1.5 million requests from users for its 4G pre-book offer.

As per a press statement, Idea has over 6.4 million subscribers based in Punjab and 4.6 million in Haryana. Its 4G services expansion will include towns like Panipat, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Pinjore and Firozpur. Like before, its customers can avail themselves of a free LTE SIM upgrade and start utilizing the high-speed network at 3G tariff rates through an introductory scheme.

Idea is also offering a 4G trial pack which starts at Rs 29. For more heavy-duty customers, the brand has put together 3 Ultimate plans which go up to Rs 2999. This entails unlimited calls, 15GB of data and an unlimited subscription to music and videos thanks to a deal with Hungama and Eros Now, respectively.

Furthermore, any customer who purchases a new LTE-ready smartphone before 31 March 2016 can make use of a double data offer for 1GB and above packs. While Idea currently has the rights to 10 telecom circles in India, it had recently inked a deal with Videocon Mobiles to increase its reach to 2 more circles namely Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh (West).
