The iBall Andi 5M Xotic has gone official long after being listed online through eBay India at a higher price than what the company has stuck to it. For Rs 8199, you will be to get your paws on this phone through retail outlets across the country. The features offered by this smartphone are pretty decent for the cost it commands. We won’t know whether these look good only on paper or not until we’ve given the handset a spin.
Under the hood, you’ll find 2GB of RAM and a 1.3GHz quad core processor of unnamed origin. If you’ve noticed, most mobile brands usually shy away from mentioning the manufacturing company behind the chipsets inside their phones unless Qualcomm, Intel or Nvidia are involved. The iBall Andi 5M Xotic has 16GB of memory and dual SIM slots.
Stretched across the smartphone’s face is a 5-inch IPS display of 960 x 540p qHD clarity, crowned by a 3.2MP webcam. Another camera of 8MP resolution can be found on the back panel. It has dual LED flash, a BSI sensor and auto focus. The Andi 5M Xotic is capable of connecting to 3G networks and delivers standard connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB tethering and so on.

Although this Andi series device arrives with Android KitKat 4.4, iBall says that it is upgradable to Lollipop 5.0, but fails to announce when buyers can expect to receive the update. The handset is powered by a 2000mAh battery and has some user-friendly functions including ‘flip to mute’. Rivals to the Andi 5M Xotic cover the Moto E 2nd gen with 4G and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G.
