Hulu Plus and Skype for Windows 8 coming on October 26

Hulu Plus and Skype for Windows 8 will be out on October 26, the same date when most Windows RT tablets are slated to make their debuts. And for those who are planning on purchasing one of them, here’s what can be expected from each of the two applications.

Hulu Plus has been designed to optimize the touch experience with a UI that is said to be easy to navigate. It will have a separate app bar that contains key features and users will be able to share clips instantly by tapping and sliding them down and up to view and select the share option on the pop-up menu. Making it easier to find favorite shows, the tool provides an option to pin up content on the start screen for one-touch access. Features like Snap View and image icon updates are also thrown into the mix.

Coming to Skype, users will be able to view recent chats and calls as soon as they launch the application. Moreover, it will make it easy to type in landline numbers as well as mobile contacts through a fresh dial pad. And even if there are a number of applications working simultaneously, users will be able to receive both voice and video calls in addition to chat messages. Talking about multitasking, the tool can be snapped together with another app to converse with friends and family while browsing the web. The company has also introduced a new People application.
