Huawei Honor 8 to arrive in India this October

Chinese company Huawei has announced plans to bring its Honor 8 smartphone to India next month, though the exact date of the launch has not been revealed as yet. The new device was displayed at an event in Goa recently.

Huawei also declared its decision to make smartphones in India. The company has partnered with electronics producer Flex, to manufacture one of the Honor handsets in its Chennai plant. This device is rumored to be unveiled in October.

The Honor 8 was launched in the US in August this year, and in China prior to that. It features a 5.2-inch screen, and 2.5D glass protection on the front and back surfaces. The device hosts two rear cameras of 12MP resolution each, one of which is a monochrome, brightness sensor, while the other is for capturing color. The 8MP front camera is dressed with a Perfect Selfie mode.

The rear of the Honor 8 hosts a fingerprint sensor that claims to unlock the phone in 0.4 seconds. The device has a dual antenna setup which automatically selects stronger networks for the user. It is powered by an i5 co-procesor in combination with the Kirin 950 chipset and 4GB RAM. The 3000mAh battery found inside claims to juice the gadget for up to 10 hours of video playback.
