Huawei and Airtel Join hands to offer free 3G data in Delhi EasyCabs

Huawei, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer and Bharti Airtel, a telecom company in India have entered into a collaboration to offer free 3G data connection to EasyCab commuters in Delhi NCR. The Huawei and Airtel scheme is applicable only in the said area in the country and will get over on September 27 this year.

The China-based company’s E355 Wi-Fi data cards are already installed in as many as 100 EasyCabs plying on the roads in the entire national capital region. And now that it has joined forces with the service provider, these data cards offer high speed 3G internet that can be accessed on any gadget that has built-in Wi-Fi radios.

The idea behind announcing this scheme, apart from promoting mobile internet, is to provide high speed web access while on the run. These connections will turn the EasyCabs into a mobile hotspot and the drivers will have the passwords of the data cards in their respective cars. Customers can ask them to give the passcode and browse the internet, absolutely free of charge.

Lately, Airtel has introduced a number of schemes to attract users into accessing the internet via their mobile gadgets. Only recently, it had taken inspiration from Vodafone to drastically decrease its data charges. In select areas in India, the network operator has reduced prices by 90 percent and charges users only 1 paisa per 10 kilobytes of usage after they have exhausted their free downloads that come with the concerned top-up. The conglomerate had also decreased its data plan rates for 4G internet, wherever it is available in the country.

And that’s not enough, the carrier has introduced Free Zone for some of the Google mobile services like Search, Gmail and G+ which are accessible through a mobile web browser for free. Those who wish to make the most of free 3G data usage by Huawei and Airtel can hop into an EasyCab in Delhi NCR area and do the needful.
